the process:
Cary House Buffalo, Our Mommie Village and Buffalo Prenatal Perinatal Network will help me invite seven new mothers to participate in the project. Each participant will pose for a source image and identify a personal postpartum symbol. I will paint each mother a 45" x 60" oil painting and design a t-shirt based on their symbol.
the fruition:
The paintings will be on display at Fitz Books and Waffles for the entire month of June 2025. On June 6, 2025 there will be an exhibit opening, t-shirt sale and panel discussion. The paintings will then reside the personal possession of each of the respective seven participants. The t-shirt inventory will then be sold at three local retailers (TBD), and ultimately circulate throughout the Buffalo community as people wear them.
